Toronto, March 13th, 2006: The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television is pleased to announce the winners of the 26th Annual Genie Awards, celebrating excellence in Canadian cinema.
Lisa Ray and Terry David Mulligan hosted the 26th Annual Genie Awards presentation earlier this evening. Immediately following the Awards ceremony, CHUM stations - in partnership with MusiMax - aired two unique one-hour specials from the glamorous Carlu in downtown Toronto. CHUM Television's Live! At the Genies and MusiMax's Le Gala des Prix Gènie showcased the night's memorable moments giving viewers across Canada an insider's look at the film industry from the Genie Awards gala celebration. The broadcasts featured highlights of the Awards ceremony, interviews with winners and nominees and clips from the nominated films. Live! At the Genies aired on, Citytv Toronto, Star!, Bravo!, Citytv Winnipeg, Citytv Edmonton, Citytv Calgary and Citytv Vancouver and Le Gala des Prix Gènie aired on MusiMax.
