for his winning Feature-Length Script
Spur of the
Moment. A comedy-thriller, Spur of the
Moment is about a man who undergoes a
surprising and remarkable transformation after he
uncharacteristically decks a belligerent stranger -
only to learn the man he
punched is a notorious underworld figure whos
looking to exact revenge.
But winning is nothing
new to Finlay, whose family script 10 Cent
Solution won the Gold Prize at the 2004 PAGE
International Screenwriting Awards.
Now,
Finlays script will be sent to Hollywood for review by
Larry Levinson, who contacted the IFA wanting to
read the winning scripts. Levinson is currently
producing Howard
Sterns Rock
and Roll High School and the remake of
Porkys.
Other winners include:
Short Script - A Very Bad Night by Ed
Stahr. A dead pig farmer, a meteorite, and a wrong
number come together to irrevocably change the life
of a funeral home worker.
Indie 300K - God Save The Faire by
Jamie
Denbo. A wity "mockumentary" about the behind-the-
scenes dealing of a Renaissance Fair, proving that no
matter what century you live in, business and love
can be anything but "fair."
Indie 50K - The Dreamslayer by Betty
E Smith.
THE DREAMSLAYER is a poignantly funny story about what happens when a
young man full of dreams who falls in love with an older woman who wants
to forget she ever had any.
